Historia+
Welcome to Historia+ a new publication section of our website that allows members to share some of their work and professional experience in a longer format than our bi-monthly newsletter Historia.
Submission guidelines and notes
Historia+ submissions are longer form articles, between 300 and 1200 words, published bi-monthly on the PHA website to coincide with the release of the national newsletter.
We aren’t prescriptive about the topic of these articles; however, they must be clear, concise and detailed accounts regarding the development and output of professional history projects. This content is not an opinion piece or reflective analysis. It is a detailed demonstration for professional and expert audiences.
Some questions which may help with the development of your article include:
Is the topic clearly defined?
Is the conclusion clear?
Is the subject of current interest to professionals and experts?
Is the subject addressed significant to professional historians?
Does the article provide new information or insights?
Does it build on previous work?
Does it duplicate existing works?
Please contact the Historia editor to propose a submission. Unsolicited materials will not be accepted.
We also have our peer reviewed journal Circa for articles and work of a more rigorous standard. See Circa submission guidelines for more details.
