Honest History Donation

Honest History contributes to the professional development of PHA members via a donation of $800.00

Recently Honest History donated $800.00 to Professional Historians Australia to provide base funding to allow the association to assist early career professional historians to attend the association’s biennial conferences in the coming years.

Professional Historians Australia is delighted to accept this generous donation from Honest History. The donation will allow the association to assist early career historians to access professional development opportunities and to present their own research findings to peers at PHA national conferences in the future. Many members of our association work in isolation and on insecure incomes. The assistance provided by Honest History will enable the association to encourage our members to continue to develop historical skills of a professional nature.

Honest History as a coalition and a website (honesthistory.net.au) has spent five years promoting the balanced consideration of Australian history by offering contesting, evidence-based interpretations to students, teachers, universities, journalists and the public. Honest History secretary and editor David Stephens explained that ‘Honest History have made this donation to PHA to help early career professional historians make their own contribution in this field'.
